The world number 1 would not have wanted to accept this solution, having always professed his innocence and having been acquitted of all charges in the first instance.
However, his team of lawyers made him understand that it was the best solution and that it would save him another period of intense stress.
The hearing before the CAS in Lausanne would have taken place on 16 and 17 April, but it would have taken other months before reaching a final verdict.
Recently, the Italian ace revealed that he might have to wait until the end of the year to know his fate. For this reason, the 3-time Grand Slam champion has accepted the agreement with WADA and will miss six tournaments in this time frame.
The 23-year-old from Sesto Pusteria has suffered image damage due to this suspension, but there are also positive implications. Jannik has been supported by all his sponsors, he will not have to miss any Grand Slam tournaments and has a very high chance of staying at the top of the ATP ranking despite this stop.

Nargiso talks about Sinner
Fans are wondering if these three-month suspension will impact Sinner when he returns to action in May.
Interviewed by 'SuperTennis', former Italian ace Diego Nargiso tried to answer this question: "Sinner is the point of reference for everyone right now. Zverev himself said he is working even harder to try and beat him.
All the players hold Jannik in high esteem both as a tennis player and as a person and I don't think these three months will change his career. There may be repercussions in the first few months after he returns to the court, maybe he might struggle a bit to get back to his best level, but I don't think Alcaraz and Zverev will overtake him in the ATP ranking. They will have the chance to get closer thanks to Indian Wells and Miami."
