Tristan Boyer absolutely unloaded on chair umpire Nick Flentie following his San Diego Challenger first-round exit as the world No. 113 ripped the umpire as "ridiculous" and described his calls as "horrendous."

The American, who was seeded at No. 2, picked up a surprise exit in his opening match after 195th-ranked Alex Bolt handed him a 6-3 7-6 (4) defeat.

Moments before the loss, the 23-year-old was slapped with a time violation.

Also, at 4-4 in the tie-break, the umpire called an out on Boyer's ball.

While the American evidently wasn't happy about that call, he only delivered the tantrum after his San Diego run came to an end.

And when it started, it was quite something as the world No. 113 started screaming - all while angrily smashing his racket.

"God, it p----- me off. God, it's frustrating. All over the place, horrendous calls. Horrendous calls!

"What are you doing giving me a time violation?! There are three people here. There are three people here watching me! Three people! It's the first round, it's ridiculous.

"We are not on TV, there is nobody watching, nobody is watching the stream. You're ridiculous!"

Chair umpire Flentie tried to explain himself by saying that "we are seeing it differently" and that "we are not going to just bend the rules."

However, it wasn't of much use as Boyer continued with his verbal attacks and also threw his racket one more time before leaving the court.
