Shane Lowry has serious ambitions this season, aiming for big things. The Irish golfer's primary goal is to secure a place in the Ryder Cup team this year, aware that this competition can offer the most for him. Lowry started the season strongly this year, but the appearance at the Majors will be a special motivation for the experienced golfer.

The 37-year-old will put a special emphasis on The Open, which returns to Royal Portrush this year. It is interesting that Shane triumphed at the US Open on the same course six years ago. In addition, the US Open will be held at Oakmont, where nine years ago he also excelled, but fell short of victory.
Quail Hollow also cannot be forgotten, considering that the PGA Championship will be held there.
Lowry stressed that he is delighted with this outcome of the situation, playing on the courses he really likes.
"Three out of four major venues this year I love," Lowry said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
"I don't even have a love-hate for Quail Hollow, it's just a pure hatred for it! I've never had a good result there."

Shane Lowry talks about Oakmont
Oakmont could have been the course where Lowry would have celebrated, but he fell short of his ambitions. The Irishman is optimistic about the US Open, believing that self-confidence will be the key to his success.
"Going back to Oakmont, it's a course that I felt like I should have won the US Open that year. But I learned a lot from that and I felt like I used that at Portrush. Would I give Portrush for that? No, absolutely not, but I feel like maybe I should have two [wins]."- he said.
Lowry is sure that consistency is the key to success, stressing that playing the Majors and the Ryder Cup is a big deal. The experienced golfer points out that he likes the pressure of such tournaments, talking about the fact that he had several notable results at the Majors.
