Ricky Saints joined NXT soon after his AEW departure, making his first appearance on the February 11 episode. During the February 25 episode, he had his first match in NXT, and fans in the crowd chanted Tony fumbled, referencing Tony Khans decision to let him go. AEWs internal reaction to the chants has now been revealed.

As seen during the February 25th edition of WWE NXT, Ricky Saints and JeVon Evans faced off against Ethan Page and Wes Lee in a tag team match. During the bout, fans constantly chanted Tony fumbled and quite a few people noticed this online as well.

While speaking onThe Hump, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the fans chanting Tony fumbled during the show. Sapp noted that those in AEW couldnt care less, that there was no major discussion about it and the general attitude was indifferent.

Sapp further added that one person simply responded with an eye roll, while others focused on preparing for AEW Dynamite. The overall sentiment was that it wasnt a big deal to them.

Ricky Saints was also successful in his in-ring debut and fans were obviously happy for him. Tony Khan hasnt reacted to the chants, but its clear that WWE fans see Ricky Saints as a big dealand they want AEW to know it.

Should AEW have done more to keep Ricky Saints, or was this just a case of him finding a better fit in WWE? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
