Paula Badosa seemingly related to Andrey Rublev's mental health admission as the Spanish tennis star said she was "moved" by how the Russian opened up and described his personal battles.

In his return to Dubai - the same place where he absolutely exploded last year during a shocking tantrum - the Russian tennis star recalled being "completely lost" and often asking himself what was the purpose of living.

"It sounds a bit dramatic or whatever, but like whats the reason or purpose to live? Just completely lost with myself, Rublev told Reem Abulleil.

And the thing is, it was not ... One thing is when it's happening one month, two months, three months, okay, maybe you still have patience or something.

"But when it's happening one year, two years, three years, four years, five, and it's coming for many, many years, in one moment it's like you cannot take it anymore.

Badosa responds to Rublev: This will only make you stronger

Over the years, the WTA world No. 11 has also been very open about her past mental health issues and how major expectations and pressure led to her falling into a very dark place.

During that dark period, the Spaniard - who is now 27-years-old - was battling major depression and anxiety, to the point where she didn't want to leave the house.

"So much respect for you @AndreyRublev97. Listening to all this really moves me and I know how much pain it is," Badosa wrote on X.

"This will only make you stronger at the end of the day. I'm glad you're feeling better. Thanks for speaking up."

In the Spaniard's case, she was labeled "the next Maria Sharapova" very early.

And after she won a junior Grand Slam at the 2015 French Open but then struggled at the start of her pro career, she had a hard time dealing with pressure and expectations.

In the end, it all worked out well for Badosa, who is a WTA 1000 champion - a Grand Slam semifinalist - and has been ranked as high as No. 2 in the world.
