Anthony Davis has called out the Lakers and the Mavericks for their handling of the trade between he and Luka Doncic.
After the Mavs faced off against the Lakers for the first time, Davis recalled the first thing he did after the trade facetime LeBron James.
When it happened, I honestly didnt know s, Davis said. Hes been my running mate for six years so the first thing I wanted to do was call him. Obviously, I know there are going to be a lot of political things in the front office when they talk to me.
He also went on to say he didnt believe that no one knew about the trade.
The front office has to do what it has to do and obviously theyre going to do whats best for the organization. So I dont know if I ever got the real about any of it. I dont know whats true or whats not, coming from upstairs. So, my thing is Im gonna go to my counterpart who Ive been running with and see whats going on, get his reaction and thats all it was. We had a conversation. That was it.
Everybodys saying nobody knew and all this other s. I just dont believe it. But, hey man, Im past that. Im ready to move forward with Dallas, try to get a championship there with these guys. First off, getting back on the floor and get ready to compete. All the emotions, that s lasted that night when it was just a shock.
Davis doesnt seem all too forgiving towards the purple and gold for the trade.
They wanted who they wanted. They did what they had to do, Davis said. I dont know if they had to, but its what they wanted to do. I moved on. I got a wife and kids to worry about, you know what Im saying? And Im figuring out how Im going to get them to Dallas and get adjusted to that.
Its over with, and Im moving on with my new team and what we got going on.
