On Thursday, the German WTA 500 grass event hinted that something big was about to be announced.

And today, they shared that Swiatek, Belinda Bencic, and 2025 Australian Open sensation Eva Lys agreed to play at the tournament this year, which is scheduled to take place between June 23-29.

Also, it was announced that Kerber - who ended her pro career during the 2024 Paris Olympics - will now have the most important role in Bad Homburg.

Even before retiring, the former world No. 1 had served as an ambassador for the German event.

In 2023, the five-time Grand Slam champion reached the Bad Homburg semifinal before withdrawing due to suspected food poisoning.

"The atmosphere in the stands was simply fantastic, something like that is not to be taken for granted," the Pole said in her statement.

When it comes to Bencic and Lys, they are set for their debut appearances in Bad Homburg.

Meanwhile, 37-year-old Kerber couldn't be any more thrilled with her new tennis job.

"This tournament is particularly close to my heart because I was there from the beginning - from the initial planning to the implementation," the former three-time Grand Slam winner said.

"As a former professional, I know what is important to the players and want to try to contribute my wealth of experience with a view to achieving the most perfect coordination possible between the organizer and the field of players."
