The problem of slow play is an increasingly common topic on the golf scene, with various experts sharing their opinions and offering solutions to this problem. TGL, the tournament created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy has attracted huge attention, especially because of the TGL shot clock, which gives you 40 seconds to play a shot.

Tom Kim, one of the golfers most associated with the slow pace of the game, spoke positively of TGL's shot clock, considering it a positive thing.
Given that he was criticized for his slow play in previous tournaments, Kim decided to explain his reasons.
The South Korean golfer admitted that he has a certain mental barrier that he has been working on in recent months.
Ive struggled with pace of play due to a lot of fighting with some mental stuff, Kim said, as quoted by Golf!
But its getting a lot better. Torrey was a really good week for me. My pace of play got really improved starting from Waste Management, too. Its something Ive been working on. It helps when I feel like over the shot clock here, I know Im comfortable over it, so I know Im not struggling; it was just a matter of going out in tournaments and consistently doing it and beating that mental barrier.

Tom Kim's caddy reacts
Paul Tesori, his caddy, surprised everyone by taking responsibility for the slow play. During his guest appearance on 'The Scorecard', he revealed that Vijay Singh taught him how important he can be in that aspect. Tesori confirmed that because of this, he lost a lot of weight, walks much faster, and gives his maximum in order to be an important factor in that aspect.
He points out that there are several tricks that can be used to speed up the game. Tesori highlights that Kim is extremely talented, and when you are such a huge talent, it is clear that there will be those who can't wait to criticize you.
