WWE saw tons of success when they held the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event last year in Australia, and it was simply a matter of time before WWE would go back to the Land Down Under again. In fact, it appears that WWE is actually returning to Australia again this year for a solid 3-night event.
According to the Western Australian Newspaper, Perth, Western Australia, is set to become the home of UFC and WWE in Australia after TKO Group Holdings finalized a deal with the WA Government before it entered caretaker mode.
The agreement covers five events over the next 18 months and was kept under wraps until now. It was signed before the State election writs were issued on February 5, which prevented the Government from entering new multimillion-dollar deals. Under the previous arrangement, RAC Arena was scheduled to host a UFC Fight Night later this year. However, the new deal adds four more events to the venues lineup.
As part of the agreement, RAC Arena will also host a major WWE weekend later this year. The event will feature three nights of wrestling, including a Friday Night SmackDown, a Premium Live Event, and a Monday Night Raw in prime time. The RAC Arena also has a capacity of 15,500, making it a solid venue for WWE shows this year.
Premier Roger Cook described the return of UFC and WWE in 2025 as a major win for Western Australia, following the success of UFC 284 and WWE Elimination Chamber, which together generated nearly $50 million for the local economy last year.
ConsideringWWEs good relationship with Australia, its really no surprise the company is going back for another round this year. With WWEs global expansion in full swing, this deal definitely opens the door for even bigger opportunities for fans in Australia. Therefore, well just have to wait and see when the company will officially announce their return to Australia.
