The Champions Course on the PGA National course has been a serious challenge for everyone for years, but the changes introduced by PGA officials have changed many things. Jake Knapp surprised the public with 59 shots, while other players were also impressive, but not as much as him.

The weather conditions were ideal, and also the overseeding of the usual bermudagrass with rye softened the fairways and greens.
In addition, some bunker sections have been removed.
Although this presented a great chance for many players, some are not satisfied with such changes, considering that a more challenging course is a much better option.
Jordan Spieth pointed out in a press conference that these changes have impacted golfers, but it is not clear whether he is satisfied with this or not.
"I didn't realize that it was overseeded, and the fairways being overseeded changes it a lot because it'll make the fairways softer which makes them wider, and then around the greens it's significantly easier than the dormant Bermuda," Jordan Spieth said, as quoted by Golf Monthly.
"You're looking at easily a stroke a round on just the change in the grass types in the fairway."

However, it was not only Spieth who highlighted that such changes affected everyone. Daniel Berger admitted in a press conference that he expected after 63 that he was great, but found out that someone played 59.
Daniel pointed out that the course was not the old Bear Trap.
Billy Horschel said that this is disappointing because until now they are used to testing their skills on this course. Billy put the accent on the overseed-has, saying it was too small.
"It's just a little disappointing because it's such a great test of golf," said Billy Horschel.
"I think the overseed has - the rough is not long enough. It's not penal enough when you miss the fairway."
Despite this, everyone is equally motivated to make a success of this tournament, which really has a huge meaning for everyone.
