WWE SmackDown on February 28 kicked off in a big way, but one of the most interesting details of the night involved two men who appeared alongside Cody Rhodes. As WWE continues to build toward WrestleMania, The Rocks presence has been looming over Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodesand that played out once again in Toronto.
The show opened with Joe Tessitore welcoming fans as the cameras cut to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A video package then recapped last weeks intense segment between The Rock and Rhodes, setting the stage for whats next. Thats when Cody was seen backstage, getting approached by two men who were there to escort him to his new locker room, a gift from The Final Boss himself.
Ringside News has learned that it turns out that those two security guards werent just random extras. The men assigned to deliver The Rocks message were actually independent wrestlers Jonny DeLuca and Jason Boa. Both wrestlers have made names for themselves on the indie circuit, and this was a major opportunity to get some screen time on WWE programming.
