Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas are intending to play mixed doubles at the US Open after the tournament organizers made radical changes to the format.

In February, the US Open officials confirmed that rumors were true and announced some major changes to the format - reducing the event to 16 teams - implementing a Fast4 scoring format until the final - and scheduling the tournament during the qualifying week.
Also, eight teams will make the tournament directly (singles ranking will be used) while the rest get in via a wildcard.
The move made doubles players furious, with some instantly pointing out that it was made to entice top singles players to take part.
The winners of this year's US Open mixed doubles title will receive a record $1 million prize money - an $800k upgrade from the $200 that 2024 champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori received.
Tsitsipas asked if he and Badosa would play the US Open mixed doubles

Last year, Tsitsipas and Badosa played an official match as a pair for the first time when they lost to Giuliana Olmos and Santiago Gonzalez in thefirst round at Flushing Medows.
Before that, they played together at the Eisenhower Cup - a TieBreak Tens exhibition in Indian Wells.
Also, they won the 2024 US Open Mixed Madness - a mixed doubles exhibition that took place before the start of last year's final Slam of the year.
On Tuesday, they will again share the same side of the net at this year's Eisenhower Cup edition.
