WWE presented the February 28 episode of SmackDown in Toronto, with Cody Rhodes appearing for an important moment. This event served as the final lead-up to upcoming matches and storylines.
Cody Rhodes will have a big decision to make at Elimination Chamber. The Rock wants him to become his champion, but the American Nightmare would have to turn heel in the process. During this weeks SmackDown, Rhodes had a chance to put a bow on his story before the premium live event.
All night, Cody Rhodes had to wrestle with the idea that The Rock wants his soul. He had segments with The Miz, R-Truth, and CM Punk, all asking him what he is going to do about The Rocks offer. In the end, Cody didnt say much to let us know what hes thinking.
The final segment of the night saw The American Nightmare come out after Michael Cole introduced him. Fans in Toronto sang Codys song loudly as he made his way out to address this whole situation before Elimination Chamber.
Michael Cole brought up how Cody Rhodes represented everyone in WWE as Champion, and he is living up to the legacy of Dusty Rhodes. Then he said that if Cody accepts The Rocks offer, he can have it all, but then he stopped short to say that there was a special gift for Cody.
Suddenly, a Ford Raptor truck with the American Nightmare logo came rolling out. Then The Rock was shown on the big screen as he prepared to board his private jet. Cody Rhodes approached the red truck that wheeled out as The Rock said that he knows that Cody is going to do the right thing. He also said that they both love to go down dangerous and Dusty Rhodes. The Rock sang a little song, and then he walked everyone through what will happen at Elimination Chamber if Cody accepts his offer and gives him his soul. Then he revealed a weight belt that he had that said Codys Soul on it with June 11th, 2015 written on it, the date of Dusty Rhodes death.
WWE SmackDown ended this week with The Rock getting on his private jet while Cody Rhodes looked on. He was certainly left with a big decision to make at Elimination Chamber.
