Manchester United desperately need FA Cup success to salvage a torrid campaign and there will be huge pressure on them to reach the quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils host Marco Silva's plucky Fulham at Old Trafford in the fifth round as they continue the defence of their crown. They have ridden their luck in victories over Arsenal and Leicester City to date and will be desperate to produce a commanding display this weekend.

Recent history suggests that's unlikely against a Fulham side capable of springing a surprise. Injuries continue to exacerbate United's issues, with under-fire Ruben Amorim continually restricted in his team selection by absentees.

Here is the lineup the Portuguese could opt for in the FA Cup.

Man Utd predicted lineup vs Fulham (3-4-2-1)

GK: Andre Onana - Altay Bayindir's injury means Onana is guaranteed to retain his starting spot on Sunday but he will have to produce a better performance than against Ipswich. Miscommunication and a lack of authority from the stopper proved pivotal in both of the goals United conceded.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt - De Ligt continues to underwhelm in a defensive capacity since making the move to Old Trafford, but he at least found himself on the scoresheet against Ipswich.

CB: Harry Maguire - Maguire produced the decisive goal against the Tractor Boys as United leaned on set pieces to create their chances. He also scored the 'offside' winner in the fourth round against former employers Leicester.

CB: Leny Yoro - United's central defensive trio will be tested by the powerful Raul Jimenez, who should return to the starting XI on Sunday. The Mexican could well isolate young Yoro.

RM: Diogo Dalot - Dalot has failed to convince in a wide midfield role under Amorim, struggling to balance his offensive and defensive duties. He will have to keep tabs on Fulham's tricky left-hand side, with Antonee Robinson and Alex Iwobi building a strong partnership.

CM: Manuel Ugarte - The Uruguayan scored an excellent equaliser at Everton last weekend but was far from convincing midweek. He needs to offer more than a snapping challenge moving forward.

CM: Bruno Fernandes - Fernandes again proved United's talisman and saviour against Ipswich, instrumental in all three goals with his teasing deliveries. Amorim has already grown reliant on his compatriot's creativity.

LM: Noussair Mazraoui - Patrick Dorgu produced a horror performance against Ipswich that culminated in him being sent off before the half-time whistle. Suspended for Fulham's visit, the Denmark international will be replaced by Mazraoui.

RF: Joshua Zirkzee - Zirkzee's work ethic is commendable but the lack of quality in the final third is alarming for someone who cost 36.5m. His only goal of the calendar year came in the previous round.

ST: Rasmus Hojlund - If United had any other senior options available, Hojlund would be glued to the bench for the rest of the season. The bulky striker is in dismal form and looks devoid of any confidence.

LF: Alejandro Garnacho - Garnacho wasn't best pleased with being substituted midweek as United looked to protect their lead. He should return to the lineup on Sunday despite storming down the tunnel.
