Barcelona returned to the top of La Liga on Sunday afternoon following their simple 4-0 victory over ten-man Real Sociedad.
Atletico Madrid started the day at the summit of the standings courtesy of their victory over Athletic Club and Real Madrid's defeat to Real Betis, but Barcelona overtook them with an incredibly comfortable home win.
Aritz Elustondo was sent off after just 17 minutes and Barcelona took full advantage, with Gerard Martin and Marc Casado both scoring their first goals for the club in the space of four first-half minutes to put the hosts in a commanding position.
Ronald Araujo added a third from a corner before turning provider for Robert Lewandowski shortly afterwards, with Barcelona able to stroll to the finish line in the closing stages ahead of a crucial Champions League trip to Benfica on Wednesday.
