Edoardo Molinari delivered another strong performance on the ECCO Tour, finishing fourth with 199 (64 64 71, -12) shots in the Infinitum Championship, played at the Infinitum Golf (Lakes Course, par 71, Hills/Ruins Course, par 69) in Vila-seca, near Tarragona, Spain, where the players alternated on the two courses in the first two rounds before finishing on the Lakes Course.

The winner was Swedens Tobias Edn with 194 (63 65 66, -17), who finished tied with Denmarks Jeppe Kristian Andersen (194 62 66 66) and then overtook him on the first playoff hole.

Ecco Tour, results

The Swedes dominated with three more appearances in the top seven in the standings. Oliver Gillberg finished third with 196 (-15), followed by Adam Vallin and Tobias Jonsson in fourth, who joined Molinari and the Spaniard David Borda.

The Turin native, returning after a hand injury, was at the top after two rounds together with the protagonists of the play-off, then in the third round he was in the running for the title until four holes from the end, where he had arrived by scoring two birdies, but lost ground with two bogeys (71, par). It was nevertheless a very positive return to the field, supported by the second place he occupied, together with the Swede Albin Tiden, in the first of the two tournaments in which he took part, the Infinitum Spanish Masters, after a three-way playoff won by the Dane Oliver Hundeboll Jorgensen on the third extra hole.

The rules of golf are relatively complicated compared to other sports because they are played outdoors, close to nature and animals. Respecting the rules is a basic element in the game of golf, which, almost always based on self-control and the free conscience of the players, often sees distorted results, sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously or through carelessness, due to the non-observance by many players of the rules of the game. In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally means playing the game with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an essential component of this sport.
