Jake Knapp had a great chance ahead of him at the Congizant Classic, but the great golfer fell short. The famous golfer had an incredible first round, while the day after he had a one shot lead. Due to a triple bogey on the 11th hole, Knapp suffered huge consequences and lost his lead.

In the end, he finished sixth with 15 shots under par, four shots behind winner Joe Highsmith.

In an interview with the media, Jake stressed that he regrets the mistake on the 11th hole.

He shared his goals before the final round, but he wasn't quite successful doing it.

"I think I played super solid. I mis-hit the one shot on 11 and that was kind of the only thing I'd really take back. It would have been nice to make some more putts, but the pins were more challenging today. We had the goal of just fairways and greens and two-putt the heck out of it, birdie all the par-5s and figured that would be enough, and if I did that, I would have been tied. Just bummed about 11. It was really the only bad swing of the day."- Knapp said, as quoted by Golfweek.

Jake Knapp shares his perspective

The 30-year-old golfer explained how things looked from his perspective, especially when it came to the shot from the water's edge. Since he only saw the top of the ball, he thought he could try to blast it out of the water with his shot, but unfortunately, he didn't hit it hard enough. However, mistakes like these are a chance to learn something new.

The popular golfer didn't think about the drop.

Still, he puts the accent on some positives, like Thursday's historic 59-stroke round. It is certainly a moment that he will never forget.
