Trevoh Chalobah is in contention to return from injury for Chelsea's Conference League clash with Copenhagen on Thursday, a report has revealed.
Chalobah was recalled from his loan with Crystal Palace in January and quickly became a regular starter, only for an injury early in the defeat to Aston Villa last month to send the centre-back to the sidelines.
Blues boss Enzo Maresca soon played down fears of a significant injury and the Evening Standard state Chelsea are now hopeful of welcoming Chalobah back into the fold ahead of Thursday's first leg.
Chelsea travel to Denmark to take on domestic league leaders Copenhagen and could hand a first appearance of the competition to attacking midfielder Cole Palmer, who was added to the squad for the knockout stages of the tournament. January signing Mathis Amougou could also be involved.
Wesley Fofana returned from injury as an unused substitute in the 4-0 win over Southampton but is not part of the Conference League squad, with Maresca revealing the French defender is among a group of players being restricted to one game per week to help manage long-term injury concerns.
Nicolas Jackson, Romeo Lavia, Noni Madueke and Marc Guiu all remain unavailable for Chelsea but there is confidence that the quartet could return after this month's international break, before which the Blues take on Leicester City and Arsenal.
Centre-back Benoit Badiashile could return sooner after taking part in team training recently.
