Carlos is chasing his second Laureus award after previously earning the 2023 Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award. Jannik Sinner would have been in contention for the ultimate honor. However, the organizers removed him from the list of list of nominees following his doping ban.
Thus, Alcaraz will challenge the four incredible athletes, throwing two Major crowns and the OlympicGames silver medal to the table.
The 21-year-old Spaniard embraced a 54-13 run in 2024 and lifted four ATP trophies. He wrapped up the year behind Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev but claimed two Major titles to increase his incredible tally and write history books.
Carlos fell to Alexander in the Australian Open quarter-final before conquering Indian Wells. The young gun skipped Monte Carlos and Rome before bouncing back at Roland Garros. The Spaniard faced Jannik Sinnerand Alexander Zverev en route to the title.

He defeated both rivals from two sets to one down, lifting a trophy and becoming the youngest player to claim a Major title on all three surfaces! Not stopping there, Alcaraz set his eyes on the Wimbledon title defense.

Alcaraz lost the ground a bit and experienced early losses in Cincinnati and the US Open. He bounced back at the Beijing Open, defeating Sinner in a thriller and earning his fourth and last title of the season.
