The last year has been really complicated for the Russian ace from a personal point of view, having suffered from depression and having struggled to find the right motivations as he himself admitted with extreme sincerity.

His 2025 began with the first-round loss of the Australian Open to Joao Fonseca, who put in a near-perfect performance by eliminating Andrey in three sets and earning worldwide compliments.
