Jey Uso has been riding solo for over a year, but he still feels like he has more to prove. As he prepares for a massive showdown against GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41, Uso opened up about his journey and the pressure of stepping out on his own.
In an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Uso admitted that despite his success, hes still working to establish himself as a singles competitor. I dont know. I just think no matter what Im doing right now, Im still trying to prove myself as a singles star, a singles competitor even though Ive been by myself for maybe a year and a half. Im still trying to prove myself, man, and its okay, its okay, this is my story.
He reflected on how fans have watched his journey from day one, saying, I think a lot of people rock with me because they didnt see me they watched me grow in front of them, they know where I came from, they raised me up.
Uso also shared some wisdom from his legendary father, Rikishi, who reminded him to stay humble no matter how far he goes in WWE. My father says it all the time, it dont matter how high you get, youll always meet the same people on your way down. Be kind to everyone, be nice, be respectful. Thats us though, thats family-oriented.
With a world title opportunity on the horizon, Uso is staying focused on delivering every week. Every Monday, Im just going to I show up to work and I make sure I leave it all out there, man, because Im trying to enjoy this ride.
Jey Usos story is still unfolding, and WrestleMania 41 could be the biggest chapter yet. Whether he takes down GUNTHER or not, hes determined to prove that he belongs at the top.
