
Sonya Deville parted ways with WWE last month, but she spent a decade in the company and made many memories there. This included the time she was a General Manager in WWE, and she has now revealed why the role was never revived.
While speaking onThe Ariel Helwani Show, Sonya Deville was asked whether there was any talk of reviving her role as General Manager while she was out of action following an ACL injury in 2023.
Sonya Deville revealed that she pitched to bring back her role as General Manager while she was injured. She suggested the idea to Triple H, but he said simply said no. He told her that the role should be for people who dont wrestle anymore, not for active wrestlers.
Deville noted that she really wanted to do it again because she thought it was an easy way to make fans dislike her. She liked having power as a wrestler when she wasnt supposed to and using it to her advantage. She enjoyed playing the role and felt it was popular, so she hoped to do it again.
Sonya Deville was featured regularly on Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown alongside Adam Pearce during her time as a General Manager, but its clear she never got the opportunity to revisit that role.
Sonya Deville excelled as a General Manager and was eager to continue in the role, but WWE had different plans. Now that she has moved on, it will be interesting to see what path she takes next, whether in wrestling, MMA, or acting for that matter.
