Celebrity involvement in professional wrestling is nothing new, as many stars have stepped into the business for various reasons. This includes Travis Scotts appearance at WWE Elimination Chamber last week and now, MJF has defended Scotts involvement in the event.

While speaking toSports Illustrated, MJF compared Travis Scotts involvement in John Cenas heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber to Dennis Rodmans presence with the nWo in WCW.

MJF pointed out that when Rodman appeared in wrestling, major sports networks like ESPN and other serious news outlets covered it, even though they typically ignore professional wrestling.

The Salt of the Earth explained that while longtime wrestling fans might not understand or care about Scotts presence, fans of Travis Scott who work at major media outlets could see it as a big deal, leading to more mainstream attention for the event.

For the record, WWE has discussed the possibility of booking Travis Scott for future matches, as he has been training for the same. However, he ended up legitimately injuring Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, which fans felt was simply necessary on Scotts part. Regardless, Scott will be featured more often on WWE television as we head towards WrestleMania 41, and MJF certainly thinks thats just good for business.
