Odyssey Jones had a memorable debut during the August 5th edition of Monday Night RAW, where he aligned himself with The New Day. This came after a long period of absence following his main roster call-up and now it appears Jones almost ended up joining The Hurt Business as well.

While speaking on the Burn After Rolling podcast, Odyssey Jones revealed that WWE had pitched ideas for him to join The Hurt Business before he was aligned with The New Day. He recalled spending 14 to 15 months after being called up without much direction, during which WWE constantly pitched him ideas on a weekly basis.

One of the early pitches involved pairing him with Bobby Lashley, The Street Profits and MVP, which he thought would have been an exciting and dominant faction, especially with MVP involved. Before that, WWE had considered several other ideas, but ultimately, none of that happened before he joined The New Day.

The Hurt Business featured Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin and they had a solid run in WWE. Lashley, MVP and Benjamin are in AEW with Alexader likely following suit.

Odyssey Jones was released by WWE last year and has since made his return to the world of professional wrestling in the independent circuit. While Jones joining the likes of MVP and Lashley would have been great, it was simply not in the cards.

Would Odyssey Jones have been a good fit alongside Lashley, MVP, and The Street Profits, or was his pairing with The New Day the right move? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
