Paula Badosa won't be teaming up with her boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas for the Eisenhower Cup in Indian Wells as the Greek tennis star will be given a replacement partner.

This year, the tennis power couple was scheduled to compete together again at the Tie-Break Tens event in the desert.

But after the Spanish tennis star retired injured from her Merida quarterfinal match last week, there were concerns that those plans may fall apart.

And now, that is being officially confirmed.

"Paula Badosa has withdrawn from the Eisenhower Cup. A replacement partner for Stefanos Tsitsipas will be announced later today," a statement from the Indian Wells organizers read.

Badosa and Tsitsipas fell just short of winning the Eisenhower Cup last year

12 months ago, the Spanish/Greek duo came close to winning the Eisenhower Cup but ultimately fell just short after losing to Emma Navarro and Ben Shelton.

Although an exhibition, it would have been their first title as a pair.

Meanwhile, Badosa's singles participation in the desert is now also in doubt.

Over the weekend, the 10th-ranked Spaniard confirmed that she was dealing with a back injury and only said that she was working on her recovery.

"Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the messages and support. I had to pull out of the match in Mrida because of lower back pain, but I'm already working on getting better," the 2025 Australian Open semifinalist said in a message posted on her Instagram.

Badosa has a first-round bye as the No. 11 seed in Indian Wells, and if she decides to compete at the opening event of the Sunshine Double, she will meet the winner of the match between Caroline Dolehide and Kamila Rakhimova in the second round.
