Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski has sustained an injury which is set to keep him sidelined for at least two games, according to a report.
Spurs have been beset with fitness concerns this season. Starting centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been sidelined for large swathes of the season while fellow defender Radu Dragusin tore his ACL at the start of the year.
At the other end of the pitch, the likes of James Maddison, Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Dominic Solanke, Richarlison and Timo Werner have all had spells in a chronically over-crowded treatment room. Yet, Kulusevski has been remarkably durable.
The indefatigable Swede is the only player to have featured in all 42 of Tottenham's games across each and every competition this season. That impressive run is set to end this week after Kulusevski picked up a foot injury, according to the Daily Mail.
The report did not delve into any specifics, but revealed that Tottenham's talismanic playmaker would definitely sit out Thursday's Europa League round-of-16 tie against AZ Alkmaar as well as a daunting league meeting with Bournemouth this weekend.
Tottenham have not had to play a game without Kulusevski in more than 14 months, drawing with Manchester United back in January 2024. The slippery playmaker has created more chances and played more passes into the penalty area than any of his teammates this season, offering a unique blend of dexterity and industry from a range of positions in the final third.
Ange Postecoglou has fought his way through the worst of Tottenham's injury crisis and was confident enough in his squad to name Kulusevski as a substitute for Manchester City's visit to north London last week. Spurs had already conceded the game's only goal by the time Kulusevski was summoned off the bench.
"There's no point having a squad and I can't be sitting here bemoaning not having a squad and then not use it [when I do]," Postecoglou explained after the defeat to City. "I think that'd be highly hypocritical of me." Now he will be forced into using that squad.
