Zayda Steel is back on Twitter and shes not holding back. After abruptly vanishing from the platform amid harassment from online trolls, the rising wrestling star resurfaced on March 4, 2025, with a tweet that made it clear shes feeling the weight of the negativity.
So I went back to watch a couple of my old matches and although they obviously werent the best, I miss the innocence & having fun with wrestling, Steel wrote. Now it feels like I cant even do my entrance without getting ridiculed
Her tweet comes after reports surfaced that she had been targeted by online hate, with some so-called fans even encouraging AEWs Megan Bayne to injure her in an upcoming GCW match. The backlash was so intense that longtime wrestling promoter Gabe Sapolsky stepped in, calling out the toxic behavior.
Sapolsky didnt mince words when addressing the situation, tweeting, I just heard of some tribalism BS with fans wishing injury and worse on a young talent because they are wrestling someone from a different tribe. If you do this, get a life. Seriously. How sad is your life?
He also shut down the idea that wrestlers themselves care about online brand wars. Just so everyone knows, theres not one professional person actually in wrestling who cares about any of this tribalism. Not one.
