Gabe Kidd never holds back, especially when it comes to AEW. The NJPW star has made it clear hes not a fan of the promotion, going off on a profanity-laced tirade against everyone from the backstage crew to the makeup artists during his recent appearance on Hey (EW).

F** AEW. F*** everyone who works here. F*** the staff backstage, f*** the people who set up the stage, the catering staff, f*** the makeup girls, and f*** the makeup guy as well. F*** the rest of you and everyone else on this platform.*

Kidd doubled down, calling NJPW the best wrestling company in the world while mocking AEWs claim that its where the best wrestle. He pointed to his dominant win over The Butcher on AEW Collision as proof, comparing his opponent to a disruptive kid on an airplane and bragging about slapping him down without any trouble.

It sure didnt look like that last week when I ran through one of the longest-standing roster members (The Butcher), someone who has been here from the beginning. I treated him like a little kid sitting in the airplane seat in front of me, kicking my seat, moving back, making funny facesand I slapped the s** out of him. I slapped the s*** out of him.*

With that kind of energy, it would have been easy to assume AEW wanted nothing to do with him. But in a surprising twist, the company seems to have softened its stance on Kidd. Sean Ross Sapp was asked on Fightful Select whether Kidd and Clark Connors showing up in AEW was a one-off situation or if there was more to it.

I cant speak to Clark Connors status, but Gabe Kidd is being used on a per appearance basis, but has made a good impression. Thats quite the 180 from how AEW viewed him a few months ago, but as of mid-February, I dont think hed signed a new NJPW deal.

For someone who trashed the company at every opportunity, Kidd has certainly managed to stay on AEWs radar. Whether this leads to something more permanent or just an occasional booking remains to be seen.

What do you think about AEWs shift in attitude toward Gabe Kidd? Should they be giving him more opportunities, or is he better off sticking with NJPW? Let us know in the comments!
