Despite the organizers' decision to change surface after 25 years, Carlos Alcaraz is ready to defend his title in Indian Wells. The Spanish ace has a particular feeling with the first Masters 1000 of the season, having won in the last two editions by beating Daniil Medvedev in the final on both occasions.

The 21-year-old from Murcia who held his traditional pre-tournament press conference yesterday already knows that he will make his debut in California on Saturday and face the winner of the match between Quentin Halys and Pablo Carreno Busta.
The current world No.3 has won a title in 2025 so far the Rotterdam ATP 500 while stopping in the quarterfinals at both the Australian Open and Doha ATP 500.
Carlitos loves Indian Wells
The 4-time Grand Slam champion arrived in California on Monday evening after a stopover in Dallas and reached the majestic mansion he uses when he plays this tournament.
Together with him there are also his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, his physio Juanjo Moreno, his fitness coach Alberto Lled, his agent Albert Molina, his brother Alvaro, his father and his uncle.

Carlitos loves to share his stay in California with all the members of his team and this sharing has worked very well in the last two editions, in which the Spanish ace has been devastating from all points of view.
Unlike most tournaments on the calendar, Alcaraz does not stay in hotels in Indian Wells and likes to be surrounded by nature near golf courses.
"Carlos needs to take a break from tennis every now and then and he loves that kind of place, where he is surrounded by nature and can play golf. He also competes very seriously in golf and plays to win on every occasion" said his physio.
The former world number 1 also adopted the same solution during Wimbledon, renting a house for a whole month a short distance from the All England Club.
