Dustin Rhodes is looking to run it backthis time, in AEW. The veteran wrestler took to Twitter on March 6, revealing he desperately wants to recreate one of his most infamous matches from his WWE days: the Hollywood Backlot Brawl from WrestleMania XII.
I so desperately want to do another Hollywood backlot brawl ish match again. Maybe we at @AEW can come up with something cool here.
For those who dont remember, the Hollywood Backlot Brawl was a wild, cinematic fight between Roddy Piper and Goldust (Dustins former WWE persona) at WrestleMania XII. The match started in a backlot, featured a nod to the O.J. Simpson car chase, and ended with the two finally brawling inside the ring.
Now, with AEW Revolution taking place in Los Angeles, Rhodes seems to think this is the perfect time to cook up a modern version of the iconic match.
