Rey Fenix has finally spoken out following his AEW departure, and all signs continue to point toward his next stop being WWE.
For the first time since securing his release, Fenix took to social media on March 6, 2025, to send a heartfelt message to his fans. He wrote, Gracias por todo su amor los amo. Thanks for all your love I love you all. #Animo #MexaKing.
This comes after reports confirmed that Fenix is now a free agent and is expected to sign with WWE imminently. The report also stated that WWE creative has already started working on ideas for his debut, and Fanatics has begun preparing merchandise for him.
AEW originally had the option to extend Fenixs contract due to injury time, but instead, they opted to grant his release. However, the situation was reportedly complex, as Fenix had made vague allegations about inhumane treatment that AEW denied privately but never addressed publicly. Sources believe Fenix had to agree to a non-disparagement clause in order to be let go.
According to WrestleVotes, a WWE source has indicated that Fenixs arrival isnt just expectedit could be happening very soon. The expectation backstage is that he joins WWE sooner rather than later. Source added they wouldnt be surprised if Fenix ends up on the WM card but noted theres no exact timeline in place.
With WrestleMania right around the corner, WWE has the perfect stage to introduce Fenix in a major way. Whether he reunites with Penta in a tag team or steps into the singles spotlight, all eyes are now on his next move.
