Logan Pauls subtle jab at the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud during WWE Elimination Chamber got the internet talking, but it also sparked a wild idea behind the scenes at AEW.
During a Q&A podcast, Fightfuls Sean Ross Sapp revealed that wrestlers and backstage personnel immediately pitched the idea of getting Kendrick Lamar on AEW programming after Logan Pauls stunt at Elimination Chamber. However, as exciting as that sounds, Sapp admitted its not very realistic.
It was immediately pitched by a bunch of wrestlers and people in the company, Sapp said. Realistically, it would be very difficult to pull off.
While AEW has pulled off some major celebrity cameos, getting someone as private and elusive as Kendrick Lamar involved in a wrestling show would be a massive challenge.
This all stems from Logan Paul etching OVO and Humble on his pod during the Mens Elimination Chamber matcha clear nod to Drakesand Lamars hit song. Drake, who was sitting front row, caught the reference and was seen laughing about it. WWE never acknowledged his presence on camera, leading to speculation about whether it was intentional or if Drake himself requested to stay low-key.
With the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar still making headlines, its no surprise AEW talent saw an opportunity to capitalize on the moment. But for now, it seems like a long shot.
