
AJ Styles isnt packing on musclehes actually losing weight.
During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the former WWE Champion set the record straight after fans noticed hes looking more ripped than ever. Everybody thinks I bulked up, Styles said. I lost weight. I was not any heavier than I was before
So whats his secret? A brutal fasting regimen that pushes his body to the limit. Fasting is a big part of my diet as well, Styles explained. He didnt just dabble in intermittent fastinghe went extreme. A three-day fast, just water maybe a week before I came back so I was shredded.
And he didnt stop there. Styles revealed that he recently took things up a notch with an even longer fast. I literally just got through doing a six-day fast, just water. That sucked too.
For Styles, the key isnt just about dietits about embracing discomfort and rejecting an easy lifestyle. Anything worth doing is hard, he said, emphasizing that discipline is everything.
He compared fasting to other physically challenging habits, like cold plunges and saunas. All you got to do is sit in that cold plunge. Thats all you gotta do is sit down. All you gotta do in a sauna is just sit there. All you gotta do is not eat and drink water. These things are easy to do, or they should be, but were addicted to so many different lifestyles of being easy and nice.
For Styles, the real challenge isnt the physical tollits the mental battle. You know what the worst time to get the cold plunge is? When youre comfortable, he said. But if you can get used to being uncomfortable, its not that hard to be uncomfortable.
