On Tuesday night in Indian Wells, the fourth-ranked ATP star and the 2022 Wimbledon champion stormed through the Eisenhower Cup final to win the Tie-Break Tens event in their debut as a pair.
En route to winning the title, the American/Kazakh duo sealed three routine wins - d. Amanda Anisimova/Daniil Medvedev 10-4 - d. Emma Navarro/Ben Shelton 10-6 - d. Madison Keys/Tommy Paul 10-4.
By winning the title, Fritz and Rybakina also collected and split a cheque of $200k.
At this year's US Open, the mixed doubles tournament will be a two-day event during the qualifying event - have only 16 teams - feature a Fast4 format - and the winners will win a record $1 million prize money.
Fritz: I asked Rybakina to play the US Open mixed doubles
"Yeah, I thought she played great last night. She did everything that I would, I guess, everything I could ask of a mixed doubles partner. I think it's a good fit," the 2024 US Open runner-up said when asked about the prospect of teaming up with the WTA No. 7 at the US Open.

"Yeah, I asked her to play because I was looking for a US Open mixed partner, and she said that she wants to. She just has to check, I guess, with her team and everything. Hopefully it gets cleared."
Meanwhile, Rybakina also enjoyed very much playing with Fritz.
Its really special. Im glad I was lucky to play here. Thanks to my partner of course and everyone who came to watch. Its a great event. Super happy to be a winner," she said after their Eisenhower Cup win.
Considering how well they looked as a pair, it would be surprising if they didn't think about forming a team for the US Open.
