If there could be one mitigating factor for Manchester United's current on-field crisis, it would be their extensive injury list.
The Red Devils have been more impressive in Europe this season but have been dismal domestically, with the arrival of Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday an opportunity to earn some much-needed respite.
But those pesky injuries will continue to make Ruben Amorim's life more difficult, with fitness issues across the pitch limiting the Portuguese's ability to chop and change his lineup.
Here are the United players missing from the duel with Arsenal.
Goalkeepers & defenders
United's defensive injuries have made their move to a back three more challenging, especially following the season-ending injury to usual left-sided centre-back Lisandro Martinez. The 27-year-old tore his ACL at the beginning of February and has joined long-term absentee and fellow defender Jonny Evans on the sidelines.
Harry Maguire is another centre-back who could be missing for Arsenal's visit. The towering Englishman sustained a knock during the FA Cup fifth round defeat to Fulham and missed Thursday's draw with Real Sociedad. Amorim revealed that he doesn't know whether he's fit to face the Gunners.
Luke Shaw is another defensive injury and his absence will be sorely felt on Sunday given Patrick Dorgu is suspended. The winter signing was shown a straight red card against Ipswich Town and will serve the second game of his three-match ban.
Back-up goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton have both missed recent matches and neither is expected to return to the bench against Arsenal.
Midfielders
Manuel Ugarte joined Maguire in leaving the pitch early through injury last weekend and Amorim was similarly coy on the Uruguayan's potential return date. The United manager hasn't ruled him out of contention but he remains a doubt to feature.
That's bad news considering Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount are currently on the treatment table. The former, who is expected to reject a new United contract in favour of moving abroad, has been absent since the FA Cup fourth round win over Leicester City in early February.
Forwards
Having allowed Marcus Rashford to leave the club on loan during the winter transfer window, the Red Devils now find themselves short on attacking options following a significant injury to Amad Diallo. The Ivorian was expected to miss the remainder of the campaign but Amorim has admitted that he could return before the season is out.
United will welcome former Arsenal academy star Chido Obi-Martin back into the fold on Sunday. The precocious 17-year-old is not registered in the Europa League squad so missed the trip to San Sebastian, but he will return against his former employers.
