Jack Draper faced a tricky opponent in the Indian Wells second round on Stadium 4. The 13th seed had no troubles, though, following a 6-4, 6-0 victory over the young gun Joao Fonseca in 75 minutes.

They traded early breaks in the opener, and the Briton took charge from 3-4, rattling off nine games and sending the 18-year-old star packing. Jack took 16 points more than his rival and had the upper hand in the pivotal moments.

Joao fired a forehand down the line winner in the fifthgame and closed the seventh with a service winner for 4-3. Nothing suggested it would be his last game of the encounter! Draper held after a deuce in game eight and stepped in on the return.

A teenager missed a backhand in game nine, losing serve and falling 5-4 behind. Not giving up, Joao attacked on the return in game ten and created two break chances. Jack denied them and missed a set point before facing the third break point.

The Briton saved it with a service winner and converted the second set point when the Brazilian landed a forehand wide. Draper attacked on the return in the first game of the second set. He hit a volley winner on the third break chance, earning his second consecutive break.

The 13th seed provided another break in the third game, moving 3-0 up and endingthe rival's resistance. Jack closed the fourth game with a forced error and produced his fourth consecutive break a few minutes later for a 5-0 advantage.

A left-hander served for the win in game six and faced two break points. Draper denied them and landed a smash winner to generate a match point. He squandered it with a loose forehand but created the second with a crafty volley winner.

Jack hit a service winner, sealing the deal in style and sailing into the third round.
