The AEW Revolution 2025 pay-per-view was truly one of the most violent shows in recent memory and not one single star ended the night unscathed. This included Swerve Strickland, as he has just confirmed he suffered an injury during the event.
While speaking during the post-AEW Revolution media scrum, before sitting down to answer questions, Strickland revealed that he suffered a ruptured eardrum after AEW Revolution, affecting his hearing in one ear. He encouraged the audience to be loud as he addressed them, saying, I have a ruptured eardrum right now, so I can only hear out of this ear. So definitely be loud.
Swerve Strickland squared off against Ricochet in order to determine the #1 contender for the AEW World Championship. The match had a ton of back-and-forth action and numerous spots where Swerve might have gotten hurt in the first place.
When all was said and done, Swerve Strickland managed to defeat Ricochet to become the new #1 contender for Jon Moxleys AEW World Championship and gave Prince Nana his robe back for good measure.
With a ruptured eardrum now affecting his hearing, it remains to be seen how this injury will impact Stricklands path to the AEW World Championship. Fans are waiting to see how quickly he can heal before his big match against Moxley, as it might still be a while until the match even happens.
