Damaris Lewis is taking cover after her AEW Revolution comments sparked major backlash from wrestling fans.
The Queen of the Ring star has now limited comments on several of her Instagram posts after getting bombarded with hate messages over what she said at the show.
During the AEW Revolution Lewis casually remarked, You all know you are going to win before everybody else does, so thank you for teaching me that. The comment didnt sit well with AEW talent backstage, and now fans have made it clear they werent happy either.
After the segment aired, her Instagram was flooded with responses, many mocking her for the remark while others flat-out told her she should never go to a pro wrestling show again. It didnt take long for Lewis to start restricting comments on her posts promoting the movie.
While she hasnt addressed the backlash publicly, its clear she wasnt expecting this kind of reaction. Meanwhile, her Queen of the Ring co-star Kelli Berglund handled the moment very differently, showing respect for the business by saying, You know what, give me a couple of months to really train. I could be down. Once you learn about it, youre so invested.
Damaris Lewis might have thought her comment was harmless, but wrestling fans clearly didnt see it that way. With her Instagram now on lockdown and the backlash still rolling in, its safe to say she wont be forgetting her AEW Revolution experience anytime soon.
Whether she meant to stir the pot or not, the damage is done. Was this just an innocent slip-up, or did she cross the line? Sound off in the comments!
