Scottie Scheffler expected that the performance at the Arnold Palmer Invitational would turn out to be a positive experience for him. However, Scheffler had to settle for T11, after a slightly worse performance. The American clearly needs to improve in various fields, but the injury that kept him sidelined for a while could be the reason why Scottie hasn't been particularly impressive lately.
In an interview with the media, the experienced golfer explained why he recorded such a negative result, stressing that he did not hole too many putts. In addition, Scottie points out that he is proud of hitting a lot of good putts.
"I didnt hole too many putts, it was really challenging out there on these greens. I mean, putting on a surface thats practically dead, the ball can have a life of its own. Im proud of hitting a lot of good putts, just wasnt my week on the greens.- he said, as quoted by Essentially Sports.
Scottie Scheffler's performances
The 28-year-old has appeared in four competitions so far, and it can be said that he performed brilliantly in each of them. Of course, Scheffler's appetites are much larger than the top 25, but the world number 1 has always been someone who aimed for the highest. He pointed out that there are also some positive things about this tournament, noting that he can improve in some areas.
Yeah, I mean, like I said, I did some good things this week. I definitely did some things I feel like I can improve on, but yeah, overall I feel pretty good.- he said.
Scottie explained that he didn't have a good driver shot in the first few weeks of the season, so it was really nice to have a good week off the tee. While he feels he could be sharper with the irons and on the greens, overall he felt he was great in some parts.
