The Northern golfer finished as T15, a result far from his expectations. McIlroy decided to make a joke after the tournament, considering that the experiment with changing the driver was a wrong move:
I led strokes gained off the tee in both Pebble [where he won] and Torrey, so it was a really good idea to change, said McIlroy, as quoted by Irish Times.
The Players could be a completely different experience for him, given that the 49-year-old has decided to return to his old driver. This tournament is very attractive for everyone, considering the tradition but also the large prize money of 4.5 million dollars. Rory does not want to go back too much in the past, nor overly analyze his performance at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, stressing that the key is to move on and be ready for the next challenge.

Its really just sort of move on from this week and put in a good three days of work to get ready for next Thursday, said McIlroy.
Rory McIlroy talks about his plans
McIlroy is not yet sure if he will add another tournament to his schedule before the Masters, but he plans to visit Augusta National a few times to prepare. He thinks it will be a little different this year because some areas of the course are now less shaded by trees due to the hurricane that passed. Also, the 16th hole has a new putting green, so he plans to visit Augusta National a few times to get a better feel for the changes.
Rory, on the other hand, is a quality golfer who has been able to respond to challenges and difficulties in his career many times in the past. We have no doubt that he will start the rest of the season more furiously, and will amaze the fans with his game.
