Will Ospreay isnt holding back when it comes to his thoughts on where AEW stands in the wrestling world.
The high-flying British star, who officially signed with AEW at Full Gear 2023, believes the company is producing the best wrestling in the United States.
I believe in what AEW is doing. I believe in the style. I believe in the genre. I believe it is the best wrestling in North America right now, Ospreay said while speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet.
He didnt just stop there, adding, I just want to drive that home. I want to be the guy. I want to keep doing what Im doing out here and hope we can keep putting out these classic shows.
When asked why he specifically said North America instead of the whole world, Ospreay pointed to WWEs approach. Michael Cole said they are more sports orientated and storytelling. Thats fair. Thats more than fair. Were more professional wrestling based. Thats great. Hes the voice of WWE for how long? [30 years]. Thats the reason theyre doing so well. Theyre telling their awesome stories, and thats great for them, but were doing great stuff as well.
Ospreay made it clear that while he respects what WWE is doing, his loyalty lies with AEW. Its so good that both of us are doing great things. Everyone in North America that has any sort of TV is doing really well and putting out great content. Wrestling is sick right now.
Ospreay isnt just talkinghes putting on show-stealing performances every time he steps in the ring. Whether fans agree with him or not, one thing is clear: hes all in on AEW, and hes determined to prove why it deserves to be called the best wrestling company in North America.
