Hammerstones time in TNA Wrestling has officially come to an endbut not before one last battle for the gold.
On the March 13 episode of TNA iMPACT!, Hammerstone stepped into the main event for his final match with the company, challenging Joe Hendry for the TNA World Championship. The bout, which was taped in February at Full Sail University, marked Hammerstones return to the ring after months on the shelf due to injury.
However, the powerhouse fell short in his bid for the title, with Hendry successfully defending his championship for the second time that night. Earlier in the show, Hendry pulled double duty, making quick work of Ryan Nemeth in an impromptu squash match before turning his attention to Hammerstone.
This match officially closes the book on Hammerstones run in TNAfor now. The former MLW World Champion announced his departure on March 7, confirming that his contract had expired and that he was now a free agent.
I wrestled my last match for TNA at the February tapings and am no longer under contract with the company, Hammerstone wrote on Twitter/X. Grateful for the opportunities that came my way and excited for whats next.
After signing with TNA in early 2024, Hammerstones time with the company was cut short following a knee injury suffered at TNA Turning Point in November. He underwent surgery in December and was medically cleared to compete by February. His final match with the promotion saw him step into the spotlight one last time, battling for the biggest prize in TNA Wrestling.
Now that hes officially a free agent, speculation is already swirling about his next move. Could he make a return to MLW? Would he fit in AEW or WWE? Wherever he lands, its clear Hammerstone is ready for the next chapter.
