Mirra Andreeva says she is preparing for a new day against Iga Swiatek as she doesn't think that her win over the Pole in Dubai will have any impact on their upcoming Indian Wells semifinal match.

Three weeks ago, the 17-year-old routed the five-time Grand Slam champion 6-3 6-3 in the quarterfinal of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai. During that match, the Russian claimed two breaks in each set and pretty much dominated the world No. 2.

After Andreeva beat Elina Svitolina and Swiatek overcame Zheng Qinwen, the two set up a rematch in Indian Wells. Since their last meeting, the 17-year-old became a WTA 1000 champion in Dubai and is currently riding a 10-match winning streak. Considering the rising star's form, some even have her as the favorite against the former world No. 1.

Andreeva on facing Swiatek again: It's a new day, conditions, country...

"It doesn't give me any benefit to our match tomorrow, because what happened happened, and the past is in the past. Tomorrow is going to be a new day, new match, new conditions, new country. Everything is different," the world No. 9 said.

"I'm going to try my best to prepare in the best way for our match tomorrow, and I'm sure that the match is going to be great, because our head-to-head is 1-All. I think it's going to be an entertaining match, and we're just going to see who is going to be better tomorrow."

Before their Dubai clash, they also met in Cincinnati last summer. Back then, Swiatek ended on the winning side but it didn't come easy since she needed to fight hard before registering a 4-6 6-3 7-5 win.

Swiatek is the defending champion in Indian Wells and has won her last 10 matches in the desert but Andreeva is also in outstanding form and all the chances are that we could get a real showdown when these two take to the court on Friday.
