It looks like Shinsuke Nakamura isnt going anywhere just yet. Despite recent speculation that his WWE contract was winding down, Nakamura was very much active during the March 14 SmackDown tapings in Barcelona, Spain.
Earlier in the day, Nick Aldis was seen tearing into Nakamura backstage, calling him out for spitting mist in a referees eyes. Aldis even considered suspending him, but instead, he demanded a rematchproving WWE still has plans for the King of Strong Style.
Meanwhile, Damian Priest stormed into Aldis office demanding answers about Drew McIntyre. Instead, he found himself face-to-face with Nakamura. When Priest questioned him, Nakamura responded in Japanese, frustrating Priest even more. With tensions rising, Priest promised to beat the hell out of Nakamura, and Aldis made the match official.
As of now, the match is still ongoing, but one thing is clearNakamura is still in WWE.
The latest rumors suggested Nakamuras WWE tenure was coming to an end, but with him still involved in key SmackDown segments and matches, it seems like those reports may have been premature.
