The WWE ID (Independent Development)program has truly changed the game when it comes to how independent wrestling can prosper in general. Recently, some reports made claims when it came to how WWE ID talent deals work for indie promotions, and now it appears we have some clarification in that regard.

Dave Meltzer in theWrestling Observer Newsletter made claims about how WWE ID talent deals work. He noted that Gabe Sapolsky organizes the matches and provides a script to the promoter.

According to Meltzer, the promoter pays the talent and is allowed to advertise them as WWE-affiliated. WWE covers travel costs by providing a stipend, but if expenses go over that amount, the promoter is responsible for paying the difference.

However, Fightful Select now reports that there is no evidence supporting claims about WWE ID talent having specific conditions. They checked with multiple performers and promotions, who confirmed they were never given scripts about ID talent and had not heard of travel stipends being provided.

Since WWE ID is still in its early stages, different talent and promotions may have varying agreements, which could explain the confusion. Nonetheless, as the program grows, clearer details about WWE ID contracts will help promoters, wrestlers, and fans understand how everything works.
