Emma Raducanu may not be going through a very good period but she has agreed to help Great Britain during the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers.
Between April 10-12, Great Britain will take on Germany and the Netherlands in the Hague. Unlike in the previous years when only one match would be played in the qualifiers, this time it will feature a short Round Robin format, with the winner of the group progressing into the BJK Cup Finals, while the two other teams go into the playoffs and battle to stay on the main level in 2026.
Last year, Raducanu returned to the British BJK Cup team for the first time since 2022. And her comeback was quite something since she went 2-2 during the qualifiers week against France and also won all of her three matches during the BJK Cup Finals. Unfortunately for the 2021 US Open champion, her inspired tennis wasn't enough for Great Britain to win it all after her nation suffered a semifinal defeat to Slovakia in the semifinal.
Raducanu hasn't had it easy recently
After the Dubai stalking incident, the world No. 55 competed in Indian Wells but saw her campaign end in round one following a loss to Moyuka Uchijima. That defeat put the Briton on a 3-6 record in 2025 - a far cry from where she wanted to be at this stage of the year.
This week, Raducanu made a move that indicated that she wasn't feeling the best as she deactivated her Instagram account.
However, that didn't impact her decision regarding her BJK Cup appearance. Besides the 22-year-old, British BJK Cup team captain Anne Keothavong also named Katie Boulter, Sonay Kartal, Harriet Dart and Olivia Nicholls.
"Im incredibly proud to name these players to represent Great Britain on theBillie Jean King Cupteam," Keothavong said in a statement.
Before the qualifiers week, Raducanu is also slated to take part at hext week's Miami Open.
