Jon Moxley is part of one of AEWs biggest storylines as a member of the Death Riders. However, the storyline has received a lot of criticism, especially about Moxleys role as AEW World Champion. With that said, Ricochet has stepped up to defend the Death Riders from the backlash.
While speaking to The Mark Hoke Show, Ricochet defended The Death Riders from criticism, saying they are making everyone step up their game. He explained that in a group like that, you either improve or get beaten.
Ricochet stated that people can talk all they want about Jon Moxley and The Death Riders, but if they have a problem, they should step up and beat themwhich no one has done. While his focus is on Kenny Omega, he respects what The Death Riders are doing because they are making people take responsibility.
Ricochet also pushed back against online criticism against the faction, stating that those people are wrong. He pointed out how Moxley and his group have become the standard, consistently winning, just like the legends of the past.
Ricochet compared this to 1985, when Nikita Koloff kept beating Magnum T.A., and fans were mad at Koloff just because he kept winning. But until Magnum actually won, no one could do anything about it. He said the same thing is happening nowMoxley is waiting for someone good enough to challenge him and take him down.
In the end, Ricochet said he fully supports The Death Riders. In his opinion, they are keeping everyone accountable, and thats something wrestling needs.
Sean Ross Sapp previously reported that Tony Khan is well aware of the criticism that the Death Riders have been receiving. After the events of AEW Revolution 2025, fans are simply more frustrated with the faction, as Jon Moxley retained his title despite a cash-in from Christian Cage. Despite Ricochets defense, AEW fans remain divided about the faction, so we will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to book it in the coming weeks.
