TNA Wrestling and WWEs ongoing partnershiphas opened the gates for several dream matches and talent exchanges that fans never thought were possible. In fact, there was quite a lot of NXT involvement during the TNA iMPACT taping held in San Antonio, Texas, on March 15.
A big surprise for fans was Jacy Jayne making her debut in TNA by attacking Masha Slamovich from behind, leading to chaos. Security ran in, and Santino Marella surprised everyone by showing up. The crowd cheered loudly and chanted his name. He announced that Slamovich would fight Jayne next week, and Tessa Blanchard would not be allowed at ringside. In the end, Slamovich won the match by using a Brainbuster on Jayne.
Later on in the tapings, TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions Heather and Ash by Elegance demanded their cake and a moment of silence for Spitfire. Afterwards, Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson from NXT showed up, calling themselves the real champions and demanding the belts. Spitfire came out, wanting a rematch right away. Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley then joined in, saying they also wanted a title shot, leading to a huge brawl.
Santino Marella called it out of control! and set a match for next week: Heather & Ash vs. Gigi Dolin & Tatum Paxley, with Spitfire banned. Heather and Ash by Elegance would win the match and successfully retain their titles after hitting a moonsault.
As WWE and TNAs collaboration continues, its only a matter of time before main roster stars also take part in cross-promotional events. With so many possibilities ahead, fans can look forward to solid matchups and surprise appearances in the coming months since its clear the collaboration is benefiting both companies.
