AEW just locked in the name for its newest tag team, and fans wont have to wait long to see them in action.
The duo of Hologram and ROH World Television Champion Komander will now officially be known as the Lucha Stars, with their first match under the new banner set for next weeks Slam Dunk Sunday edition of Collision.
Hologram has been at war with LFI ever since they blindsided him after his victory over The Beast Mortos at WrestleDream last year. But hes no longer fighting aloneKomander has stepped up, bringing his own issues with LFI into the mix.
During Collision this past Saturday, AEW aired a video package hyping up next weeks tag team showdown, featuring Hologram and Komander taking on Dralistico and The Beast Mortos. In the promo, Alex Abrahantes casually dropped their team name, calling them the Lucha Stars. That might have been an early clue, but AEW later confirmed it outright on social media.
AEWs official account sealed the deal by tweeting out a match graphic for Slam Dunk Sunday, writing: Two Lucha Stars team, @AEWHologram + #ROH TV Champ @komandercrmx, to battle LFIs @dralistico_lfi & @beastmortos!
The Lucha Stars vs. LFI is set to go down on Collision this Thursday, March 20, live in Omaha.
