Stone Cold Steve Austin may be one of the most legendary names in WWE history, but dont expect him to have the inside scoop on the companys new era under TKO. The Texas Rattlesnake made it clear that while hes got no bad blood with anyone, hes just not in the loop these days.
Speaking with Sports Illustrateds Zack Heydorn, Austin was asked how his relationship with WWE has changed since Vince McMahon stepped away. His answer? He simply doesnt keep in touch with anyone regularly. I dont know. I havent talked to anybody. I dont really talk to anybody thats currently wrestling right now anymore, Austin admitted. John Cena and I will talk, like once a year, or whatever. I havent talked to John in forever.
That doesnt mean Austin has cut ties completely. He acknowledged that there are still a couple of people in the office from his era, but overall, WWE has gone through a major transformation. Theyve cleaned house pretty good, and its a new setup. But I cant speak to any of that because I honestly do not know.
Despite the lack of contact, Austin made sure to emphasize that theres no drama. Were good. I just dont know how the day-to-days are going, but I mean, theyre pushing the creative envelope in a whole lot of different directions, and it seems like its done good for them, I guess.
Do you think WWE should bring Stone Cold back in some capacity? Would he be a good fit in the TKO era? Let us know in the comments!
